So many of us have been trained that getting a job is a rite of passage to becoming an adult. For many of us that means working in any variable of 8-hour hell with people who we don't like or who don't like us, making far less than we are worth and in the very worst of cases, doing something we hate doing!
Granted we all need to make a living, but why do we have to suffer in the process?
Let's be logical about this- after high school or college, depending on the path you've taken- work takes up the bulk of our lives. We spend at least 40 hours a week working-AT LEAST! Most of us probably spend more time with our colleagues than with our loved ones so, WHY?...
Why are we working according to what other people have deemed okay when we can live and work on our own terms?
I had an epiphany one day, not too long ago, that I didn't want to spend the rest of my life working in hell! From now on, I am only going to do work that I thoroughly enjoy- the work that speaks to my heart and soul! I dare you to do the same...
1. Decide what you WANT to do (not what you feel compelled to do to make a buck...if you follow your heart the money will come!)
2. Find out what you need to do to make it happen
3. Make a plan (set small attainable goals that will help you achieve your ultimate aspiration)
4. Do the work! (work towards achieving the small goals you've set for yourself; if you can work like a slave towards someone else's dream, you can definitely put that time and energy into trying to realize your dreams!)
Now, go forth and do the work that speaks to you!
